Ok, so now its time to consider various other vendors that you will hire for your wedding. What kind of music with you have? Do you want a DJ or a musician or both, one for the ceremony & another for the reception? What kind of food do you want? Is it a formal sit down dinner or a more movable coctail style reception? Which style you choose will also have a great impact on the kind of food you order. Look around for the best price of both of these to see where you can find the style you want at the price you want. What kind of flowers do you want? Do you want more traditional roses, carnations, ect or something more exotic or locational based on where the wedding is? Would you be interested in having a hands on approach to the flowers? If so look for one that 1. has no problem accomadating your request & 2 don't contradict what you ask for. Flowers were very important to me at the wedding as those were the primary if not the only decoration we had asside from the beautiful locations & tiki torches. Many flourists only wanted to do what they wanted with the colors they chose or with traditional flowers. I was frustrated to no end. All I wanted was yellow & pink tropical style flowers and all these flourists kept trying to get me to do was roses & when I said pink they said purple. Finally at my breaking point my photographer recommended a wonderful flourist that really made our wedding. We even did a bouqet class & made our own bouqets. If at all interested look for classes in your area. If you are on Oahu Posy Parties is amazing! She made a beautiful crown to match our bouqets & even got the plumerias I had hoped for. We even had extras for decorations at the reception. This option was a fraction of the cost of having them done for us, a heap more fun, & much more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! Be prepared that in high volume areas it is very likely that when you call vendors as an individual you may have to call many before finding one that will work with you. The unfortunate side effect of so many hired planners is that many vendors then refuse to work with individuals instead of planners. There are wonderful vendors out there who will work with you so do not give up, but they will take some time & effort to find. Sometimes word of mouth can find you some of the best vendors around so remember networking is important!
As for the small details, decide what you want for decorations &/or favors & if you are going to make them or have them done. I made mine by etching & painting mason jars with flowers & made mini messages in a bottle with sand & shells. There are tons of inexpensive fun things you can do. Check Pinterest for ideas & sometimes even instructions. We still use the extra mason jars we made for the wedding as household glasses.
Go through a list of all things you've done & need to do/get. Stop stressing & remember there will be minor things forgotten & there will be things that don't go completely as planned but it's ok. The day will still be wonderful. Enjoy every moment of it! you will treasure this time long after the fact, but if you don't slow it down as much as possible then it will be hard to remember & enjoy everything. I know we were so stressed & busy that it was difficult to embrase everything.
I hope I've covered the basics & then some. I know it can be daunting so if you have questions or need some advice on what to do or where to go don't hesitate to send me a message & I'll do my best to assist. Would also love to hear your stories so please share. The biggest most important thing I can tell you before I end this series here today is...ENJOY THE PROCESS & THE DAY! Relax as much as possible and cherish all of it! Congrats & happy planning!
